UCSF’s Center of Excellence for Transgender Health (Trans CoE) was founded in 2009 with a mission to increase access to comprehensive, effective, and affirming health care services for transgender and gender diverse communities. The Transgender CoE’s goal is to improve the overall health and well-being of transgender individuals by developing and implementing programs in response to community-identified needs. The Transgender CoE actively engages a national advisory board of transgender leaders from throughout the country. We bring extensive expertise in transgender health research and best practices for gender diverse community engagement.
At UCSF, we partner with multiple projects and departments, including:
- Center for AIDS Prevention Studies
- UCSF Transgender Care
- Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center
- Center for Sexual & Gender Minority Health
