Cochrane Infectious Diseases

Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group (CIDG) is affiliated with UCSF Global Health Sciences and the AIDS Research Institute at UCSF

Established in 1992, the CIDG is an international network of health care professionals, researchers, and consumers committed to developing and maintaining comprehensive, regularly updated systematic reviews of health care interventions in a given medical specialty. These are published online in The Cochrane Library. The CIDG, established in 1997, works with researchers from around the world to prepare and update rigorous systematic reviews of HIV prevention, treatment, and care interventions. In a field evolving as rapidly as HIV, the best evidence for treatment and prevention decisions may not always be clear. This is especially true in resource-constrained settings.

CIDG systematic reviews on HIV topics assist clinicians, public health practitioners, policymakers, and consumers in making evidence-based decisions about HIV prevention and treatment, and provide a direct translation of cutting-edge research into practice.
