Community Groups

The Center for AIDS Prevention Studies/ Prevention Research Center (CAPS/PRC) Community Advisory Board (CAB) comprises stakeholders from Bay Area agencies and communities. Its mission is to channel community input into the CAPS/PRC research agenda and initiate special projects aimed to help HIV prevention science reach stakeholders.

Recommendations and concerns raised by the CAB are also channeled to the external Scientific Advisory Board convened by the Administration Core.

The Scientific Advisory Board meets to review and identify potential gaps in the CAPS research portfolio, provide objective advice about CAPS scientific and strategic directions, and make recommendations that inform strategic planning.

The PRC Forum includes representatives from a diverse array of organizations and stakeholders in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area who are committed to working on health disparities in the African American community.
