Research for Gay Men's HIV/AIDS Prevention
For more than four decades, gay and bisexual men have been at the center of the HIV epidemic—and at the forefront of the movement to end it. On National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day 2025, we highlight the research, innovation, and community partnerships that continue to shape prevention and care.
At the UCSF Center for AIDS Prevention Studies, our work spans many areas: advancing PrEP access, supporting couples, addressing substance use, strengthening global collaborations, and tackling the unique challenges faced by Black gay and bisexual men.
Together with community partners, we are committed to building solutions that are rooted in science, equity, and lived experience—so that every gay and bisexual man has the tools and support to thrive.
