Among HIV-infected children and caregivers in South India, the level of “full” disclosure (saying HIV) to children learning their HIV-positive status is low. If caregivers disclosed, it is most likely to be “partial” (saying chronic illness only). Caregivers reported multiple barriers to disclosure, including fears of stigma and discrimination. (M.
