Speaker: Daniel Canavese de Oliveira, PhD, Health Sciences Researcher and Associate Professor of Public Health, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil
Dr. Canavese is a researcher and Associate Professor at the Department of Public Health at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil. His current research is in the areas of health literacy, public policy, situations of inequity, stigma, discrimination and violence related to social determinants including race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and class, from a perspective of intersectionality and intersectorality. In his work, Dr. Canavese promotes Human Rights and social justice. Dr. Canavese coordinates the research group "Health, Environment and Development" for the Master Program in Public Health and the Group of LGBTQIA+ Health at the Brazilian Public Health Association (ABRASCO). His main area of research involves health literacy, HIV/AIDS end LGBTQIA+ health and is interested in expanding the network and partnerships.
