Addressing Stigma in HIV Prevention Services Toolkit
Purpose
To help community-based organizations identify and reduce stigma within HIV prevention services and create more welcoming, respectful, and supportive experiences for clients.
Brief Summary
Developed by the UCSF Technical Assistance Team with community partners, this toolkit provides practical guidance for identifying and addressing stigma in HIV prevention services. It focuses on three areas where stigma may occur: program promotion and health education materials, organizational policies and service processes, and interactions between staff and clients.
The toolkit includes stigma-reduction strategies, reflection questions, case studies, a service checklist, and an action planner to help organizations identify opportunities for improvement, implement practical changes, and monitor their progress over time.
