The Behavioral and Social Science Training Institute (BESST) is committed to training individuals in behavioral and social sciences to help address pressing societal challenges through scientific knowledge and practical applications.

Rationale

The rationale for our institute stems from a desire to meet the demand for training and mentorship in the practical aspects of behavioral and social sciences at UCSF. Our unique, immersive, and practical training programs have been meticulously designed to address this demand. The BESST Institute is committed to empowering individuals with the essential skills they need to make significant contributions to their respective fields.

Trainers

The trainers at the BESST Institute are highly regarded behavioral and social scientists. They possess extensive expertise in prevention science, intervention development, health services research, and policy research. Additionally, they have in-depth methodological knowledge. Our academic backgrounds include medical anthropology, social anthropology, public health, psychology, social psychology, and sociology.
