Spotlight on Newly Funded Research Projects at CAPS: PrEP Messaging for Spanish-speaking Transgender Latinas & Couples-based Prevention for Transgender Women

Optimizing PrEP Messaging for Monolingual Spanish-speaking Transgender Latina Women. 

Catherine Rivas is a research coordinator at the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS). She received her BSc from UC Davis in Global Disease Biology with a minor in Public Health Sciences, and has worked in a variety of clinical settings serving predominantly immigrant and monolingual Spanish-speaking communities, including ZSFGH. 

 John Sauceda is an Assistant Professor at CAPS in the DPS, and his research focuses on improving mental health outcomes and reducing health disparities among Latino/a communities impacted by HIV. 

 Sophia Zamudio-Haas is a qualitative methods Specialist at CAPS, whose research focuses on reducing HIV health disparities through increased access to culturally appropriate prevention and treatment services for people of color and gender and sexual minorities.

 Rachel L. Kaplan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences / Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health whose research is centered on health equity among transgender women.
