AHF, Oakland’s LGBTQ Community Center & the Bay Area State of Emergency Coalition (BASE) to Mark World AIDS Day on December 1st
World AIDS Day events include screening of the new AHF documentary Keeping The Promise—AHF 30 Years & community reception Friday, December 1st at Oakland’s LGBTQ Community Center.
OAKLAND (November 20, 2017) To mark World AIDS Day this year, AHF, Oakland’s LGBTQ Community Center & the Bay Area State of Emergency Coalition will join together to host a free community observation and commemoration on Friday, December 1st—World Day observed—at the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center, located at 3207 Lakeshore Ave.
The World AIDS Day events in Oakland include screening of the new AHF documentary Keeping The Promise—AHF 30 Years. The event will feature a reception including a virgin cocktail hour, food and beverages (with food catered by S&M Productions, an LGBT-owned catering business.) There will also be a frank sexual health discussion facilitated and moderated by comedian Sampson McCormick as well as spoken word and drag performances.
WHAT: Free World AIDS Day COMMUNITY OBSERVANCE in Oakland includes:
- screening of Keeping The Promise—AHF 30 Years (56 min documentary film)
- sexual health discussion facilitated by comedian Sampson McCormick
- spoken word and drag performance
