Title: Food for Thought: Addressing the Vicious Cycle of Food Insecurity and Poor Health
Dr. Weiser will present over a decade’s worth of empirical research on how food insecurity contributes to poor health for HIV and other chronic illnesses, and how novel food security interventions can interrupt the vicious cycle of food insecurity and poor health.
Dr. Sheri Weiser, MD, MPH, MA, is an internist, and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Division of HIV, ID and Global Medicine at UCSF. She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, Master’s degrees from Harvard University and University of California, Berkeley, and completed her residency training in internal medicine at UCSF.
